Standing Together: Community Responses to Medicaid Challenges

On Friday, March 28, 2025, Northwest Indiana citizens, health centers, faith-based organizations, elected officials, and allies intend to make their voices heard in response to SB2: Medicaid matters. Concern over massive cuts to

Medicaid continues to escalate as communities begin to unravel the chilling prospects of this bill as it moves toward passage.

According to the Indiana Council of Community Mental Health Centers, Inc., “Medicaid is the largest payer for substance use disorder treatment and recovery services in the country, and cuts to the program’s funding will endanger people’s lives, increase burdens on hospitals and law enforcement, and have devastating broader effects on state economies.” The purpose of this event is to understand the challenges SB2 presents not just for those with mental health issues, but to gain a greater understanding of the impacts on children, veterans, Hoosiers living with disabilities, families, neighbors, and friends who stand to lose vital health coverage and their quality of life.

Join us for a community conversation to unpack SB2’s language. We will create space to hear from those who have the most to lose—uninsured/underinsured families, the elderly, caregivers, and people with disabilities. Find out how SB2 jeopardizes community Crisis Response Programs. Understand the risk to tens of thousands of healthcare jobs and services.
