Sox lose 7-4 to Los Angeles Angels on game-winning home run

The Chicago White Sox fell to the Los Angeles Angels 7-4 on Sunday, April 4, on the ESPN network.

The White Sox fought back to tie the game at 4 to 4 in the ninth inning but surrendered a 3-run homer to Jared Walsh to close out the night. The game-winning home run by Walsh was his second of the game.

“I just told them, this is one of the most impressive losses that I can remember being a part of,” said Chicago manager Tony La Russa via AP and ESPN. “You look at all the stuff that went on in that game, and the fact that they didn’t give up is a great sign of the toughness and the guts that this club has as we move forward.”

La Russa said he was very proud of his team’s performance despite falling 7-4 to the Angels in the bottom of the ninth inning.

He loved the fact that his team fought back late in Sunday’s game and never gave up. The White Sox scored four runs in the loss against the Angels. Their offense faced Angels pitching and hitting sensation Shohei Ohtani in game four of the series. Ohtani accomplished two huge feats on Sunday night against the White Sox: 1) He would throw a pitch that was at least clocked at 101 mph and 2) Smashed a 115-mph home run over the wall in the first inning.

“I’m glad I got one game like this under my belt, and it’s going to lead to a lot of confidence for me,” Ohtani said through his translator via the AP and ESPN.

Final Score: Angels 7, White Sox 3.

Despite their loss against the Angels, the White Sox are favored to win the American League Central this season. White Sox star Tim Anderson was removed from Sunday’s game due to tightness in his left hamstring.
