The public is invited to attend the Sixth Annual Katie Hall Public Service Awards Luncheon on Saturday, April 7, 2018. The VIP Reception will begin at 11 a.m. and the Luncheon at 12 p.m. Genesis Convention Center, 1 Genesis Center Plaza, Gary, Indiana. General Admission is $50.00 per person.
The keynote speaker for the luncheon is Attorney Juan R. Thomas, 75th President of the National Bar Association, headquartered in Washington, D.C. and comprised of over 60,000 African American lawyers and judges.
Additional honorees for the luncheon are: Ms. Amy Goodman, Television Anchor/Host, DemocracyNow! of New York, New York; Mr. Justin Mount, Site Superintendent, State Historic Sites at Springfield, Illinois accepting on behalf of U.S. President Abraham Lincoln (Posthumous); Attorney Robert L. Lewis, Robert Lewis & Associates, Gary, Indiana; and The Honorable Mary Brown, Member, Gary Common Council, District 3, Gary, Indiana.
During the Luncheon, the Harriet Tubman Essay Contest winners will be announced for grades 3—5 and grades 6-8.
