Singing for Safety

By Crusader Staff Writer

To further engage our public safety heroes with the communities they serve, talented members of the Gary Fire and Police Departments will demonstrate their gifts that extend beyond protecting and saving lives.

These two departments often work together in the performance of their duties but this time will be different. This activity will not take place in a threatening environment or during a critical incident. On Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 6 p.m. in the Diamond Center at Railcat Stadium the two departments will unite to perform in a musical concert.

“Safety has never sounded so good” say organizers. “These individuals are some of the finest singers and musicians in the entire Chicagoland area and guests will not be disappointed.” The entire Northwest Indiana community is invited to support the efforts of our heroes in blue.

The event is sponsored by the Gary Midnight Basketball League. A portion of the proceeds will be dedicated to the combined Retired Fire and Police Association. Checks should be made payable to the Gary Midnight Basketball League, a 501C3 organization; contributions are tax deductible. Sponsorship opportunities are available from $250 to $2,500. Individual tickets are $10.00 per person.
