Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority

The organization was founded on Nov. 12, 1922, with its vision and mission of “Greater Service, Greater Progress” at Butler University. The 25th International Grand Basileus Rasheeda S. Liberty; Karen Y. Williams, Executive Director ICHQ; and Joann Loveless, Centennial Planning Chair and 22nd International Past Grand Basileus; and Loreal Marshall, Central Region Syntakes represented the seven founders in grand style. The events were power packed with Sigma’s own emcee Soror M.C. Lyte and consisted of performances by Charlie Wilson; Anthony Hamilton; Kirk Franklin; Doug E Fresh; Soror Marsha Ambrosius; violinist, Soror Meredith “Ezinma” Ramsay; and Ricky Smiley, comedian and radio personality. City of Indianapolis and Butler University welcomed over 7,000 attendees in grand style with blue and gold.
