The owners of Shawn Michelle’s Old Fashioned Homemade Ice Cream shop, Nataki and Yahya, are inviting the community and especially ice cream lovers to attend the official grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony of their first permanent location at 46 E. 47th Street (47th & Wabash) on Saturday, March 30.
It has been a lifetime labor of love for Yahya, who has been experimenting with recipes and flavors since his college days to recreate the homemade vanilla taste he remembered from his youth.
Joined by his wife, Nataki, together they hope to not only create a delicious tasting frozen treat for their customers, but to also create an experience that will become a tradition for years to come. The doors will open at 11:00 a.m. with balloons and all the fanfare you would expect, as well as an indescribably delicious vanilla ice cream and a variety of other flavor creations you won’t find anywhere else.
