Shocked at learning about Thursday’s death of superstar Prince, the Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr. gave his condolences to the much beloved singer calling him a “global icon” and a “transformative musician.”
“Prince even changed his name to a symbol…. He was more than a musician. Our hearts bleed” over his untimely death.
The 57-year-old singer was born Prince Rogers Nelson. Jackson said among the many artists he sang with was Mavis Staples. “He is a creditor. We are the debtor,” said Jackson.
