Rauner’s CSU plan stirring the pot

Paul Vallas, a former Chicago Public Schools CEO, who was appointed by Governor Bruce Rauner to serve on his newly created advisory council at Chicago State University is the Governor’s pick for the new president of CSU, sources tell the Chicago Crusader.

The move is stirring up tensions at Chicago State where Vallas’ is having difficulty as he tries to settle in at CSU. Some CSU officials are not happy with a white officials serving as president of a predominately Black school. But some say Rauner is trying to use his power to get Vallas the top job.
