Pre-Rap sheet Day

The Monroe Foundation will host a Pre-Rap Sheet Day free information session for the Get Cleared Illinois campaign on Wednesday, August 8 from 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Teamwork Englewood located at 815 N. 63rd St, 2nd Floor, Chicago, IL. Attending registrants will receive information about sealing, expungement and legal options to prepare to ‘get cleared’.

The Monroe Foundation will use funds provided by a 2018 Acting Up Award grant from The Chicago Community Trust to pay fees for returning citizens and juveniles with past convictions to obtain their rap sheet which is a requirement for consideration to have conviction records sealed or expunged.

Get Cleared Illinois is a campaign to break recidivism and end the school to prison pipeline by empowering ex-offenders to obtain their ‘rap sheets’ (city and state) and identify legal options to ‘clear’ their records and connect them to enabling resources that keeps ‘ex’ from their names.
