Pharis Evans, Jr. releases “Witty Notes” as birthday book

Ever come up with a clever or profound saying that sounds “quotable?” Well, Pharis Evans, Jr., has come up with quite a few…more like 200 plus!

Just one day after his birthday, Evans, a well-known minister, musician, songwriter and author, is set to release his latest work, “Witty Notes” Tuesday, August 27 at 6:00 p.m. at the ArtHouse Social Kitchen, 411 E. 5th Avenue in downtown Gary.

”I’ve learned so much over the years through the relationships I’ve formed, life’s experiences, my role in the church, my journey as a father and so much more,” said Evans. “In every facet of my life, these quick, soundbites of wisdom would come to me, and I started keeping track of them. I knew I had to share these witty notes with the world in hopes that many will learn from them and be inspired.”

One chapter of the book also features quotes that were personally told to Evans by notable celebrities including gospel singer Yolanda Adams, Bishop T.D. Jakes and legendary singer Stevie Wonder.

Evans’ Birthday Book Release event is free and open to the public and will begin and conclude with a book signing. From 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., he will be interviewed by Chelsea Whittington, public relations professional and owner of C WHITT Public Relations firm.

During the interview, Evans will discuss how the book came into existence and the meanings behind some of the witty notes in the book. Audience members will also have the opportunity to ask questions.

Evans envisions his book being on coffee tables in homes everywhere serving as a catalyst to thought-provoking conversations.

”You can pick up my book, turn to any page and start a conversation about the selected witty note,” said Evans. “I want it to spark dialogues and even debates, but most of all, I hope readers benefit from some of my life lessons.”
