PGA Junior Golf Camps Opens Registration for 2019

This summer, PGA Junior Golf Camps, the PGA of America’s signature golf camps for boys and girls ages 6 to 17, will introduce thousands to the sport while also advancing the skills of seasoned young golfers at an expanded list of venues nationwide. The popular camp programs, led by PGA Professionals, will be offered at more than 150 courses across 34 states and the Dominican Republic.

With the focus on play and fun, this year’s golf camps are aimed at bringing kids and teens into the game they can enjoy for life. Whether a child or teen has never picked up a club or routinely makes the leaderboard in junior tournaments, the half-day, full-day, and overnight camps are designed to keep players engaged and excited as they learn.

“Golf is a remarkable game, in that it is one of the few sports kids can learn at a young age and play for the rest of their lives,” said PGA President Suzy Whaley, PGA/LPGA. “PGA Junior Golf Camps provide a great start on that lifelong path, by coaching skills in a way that’s fun and enjoyable. Since the golf camps are taught exclusively by PGA Professionals, parents will know that their children are learning from the best in the business.”

In addition to learning the fundamentals for full swing, putting, and chipping, campers learn golf’s rules and etiquette. They also learn life skills, such as integrity and good sportsmanship, which are important building blocks to developing character in young people.

In addition to the half-day and full-day camps at facilities across the country, PGA Junior Golf Camps will offer its popular “Competitive Edge” overnight camps for intermediate-to-advanced players. For 2019, the overnight camps are being offered in six locations, including some of the nation’s most revered golf venues: Whistling Straits, Tiburon Golf Club and Silverado Resort & Spa.

Competitive Edge camps are strategy and skills intensive for golfers ages 12-17, who are serious about honing their game for tournament play and collegiate golf. Campers study all aspects of the game, with the aid of daily on-course PGA Professional instruction and the industry’s most advanced instruction technologies. These advanced camps also incorporate fitness and conditioning sessions, nutrition seminars, and evening workshops featuring notable experts from within the junior golf realm and beyond.

“We created PGA Junior Golf Camps to open up the world of golf to the next generation,” said Marc Haddad, founder and CEO of PGA Junior Golf Camps. “Our camps are led by some of the best instructors and players in the country. We have PGA Master Professionals, former PGA TOUR players, and many PGA Professionals that were successful collegiate golfers, and the best way to learn is to learn from the best. Whether parents simply want their children to get outside and have some fun, learn a game they can play as a family, or take the next step toward their child’s dream of playing at a highly competitive level, the camps provide the right mix of playing and learning to keep the game fun.”
