Project Outreach and Prevention (P.O.P.) will honor youth and community leaders for their work in helping end violence in Northwest Indiana and South Chicago at their 4th Annual Scholarship Luncheon on Saturday, July 20 at the Chateau Banquet Hall in Merrillville, IN from 11:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m. Not One More Life, One More Day is the message being sent to the community with the purpose of encouraging everyone to become aware and involved in the prevention of violence against youth. The featured speaker is Judge John Fitzgerald Lyke of the Cook County Circuit Court, and the event will be hosted by Gary native “Lady Redd” of 106.3 WSRB FM.

To help end youth violence, P.O.P. offers a series of events and platforms for high school and college students to get involved and help create a positive change throughout underserved communities. The scholarship awards luncheon is one of their signature events that not only helps raise funds but awareness around careers in health care which includes medicine, dentistry, nursing, etc. In addition, eligible students who have been involved with POP are awarded scholarships for their academic, community, and high school involvements.
