Opportunity Enterprises hosts Disability Resource Series workshop on special needs trusts

Opportunity Enterprises will host a free workshop on Special Needs Trusts the evening of Wednesday, November 20, 2019 from 6-7:30 p.m. The workshop will serve as part of the organization’s Disability Resource Series. Taking place at OE’s main headquarters, 2801 Evans Ave. in Valparaiso, this workshop is presented by Centier Bank.

The presenter is Attorney Connie Bauswell, who is a Certified Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation (CELA). Guests should enter through Door #2 on the northwest side of the building.

The event, free and open to the public, will cover an array of questions regarding Special Needs Trusts and how they can benefit individuals with disabilities. Questions slated for discussion include, but are not limited to: “Who needs a Special Needs Trust?,” “Who should serve as a trustee?,” and “What are the basics of Public Benefits?” If you or someone you know has heard about Special Needs Trusts, but are unsure if they are right for you, your attendance at this event is encouraged. If interested in attending, RSVP to Opportunity Enterprises Events Coordinator, Amy Wulf at (219) 464-9621 ext. 333 or [email protected] or visit www.oppent.org/drs.

“We’re enthusiastic to be in partnership with Centier Bank and The Law Office of Connie L. Bauswell to bring this workshop to Opportunity Enterprises’ Disability Resource Series,” says Opportunity Enterprises Development Director, Kacie Ensign. “Navigating through a topic such as Special Needs Trusts can be complicated, so it is our hope that this event serves as a valuable resource to our Northwest Indiana community, especially those who have a loved one with a disability.”
