Not Before My Parents Presents: Community Explosion “Fun Time Back In The Day”

Not before My Parents promotes peace and celebrates the youth in their annual Community Explosion on Saturday, July 13, 2019. The event will take place in the heart of Englewood at Ogden Park at the 6500 block of South Racine.

The annual Community Explosion is one of the fastest growing family fun events promoting outdoor activity, where parents and children can enjoy classic outdoor games together. Special appearance by Chicago’s own “IAmDLOW,”  hip-hop dancer, rapper, and choreographer and host Englewood’s own Rashanah Baldwin, TV/Radio Personality.

This free action-packed event will include activities such as chess, double dutch, volleyball, bocce ball, a dance contest, 3-on-3 basket, and much more! Prizes will be awarded to the winner of each game! Attendees can enjoy refreshments and live music.

“We want to continue to give our youth an outlet and space where they can have fun, relax, and enjoy a day of old school games with their families in a safe setting. We use chess as a way to help the children develop strategic moves and skills to use their brain power in tough situations,” says Raydell Lacey, Co-Founder of Not Before My Parents.
