Jerrica Neal has signed a Letter of Intent to play basketball at Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska in the fall after graduating from Wirt-Emerson Visual And Performing Arts Academy. Neal, who plays for the Gary West Side Lady Cougars, was joined by her family and the entire Gary West Side High School basketball team for the announcement on Monday, April 11 by coach Rod Fisher.
The 5’11” senior forward has had a successful last season despite suffering a concussion after colliding with another player in Chesterton on Jan. 5. Neal, who is a dead shot at the free-throw line returned after recovering to play more aggressively with no hesitation on the floor. The West Side Lady Cougars will most certainly miss Jerrica Neal, who along with teammates like Dana Evans and Brianna Joiner, created a formidable force against any team.
Neal is looking forward to sporting the Hawks uniform at Northeast Community College. She averaged 9.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game as a senior while leading The West Side Lady Cougars to a 19-5 overall record.
