On Saturday, June 8th, as we welcome recipients of the Medal of Honor to Arlington International Racecourse for Military Appreciation Day. The Shannon Rovers Irish Pipe Band will be on hand throughout the day as we honor America’s heroes. Following the second race, turn your eyes to the winner’s circle for a special presentation. A presentation of colors will follow the third race, featuring the national anthem as well as a helicopter flyover. The colors will be presented to Richard L. Duchossois, Arlington Chairman Emeritus and decorated WWII hero following a 21-gun salute. You won’t want to miss our Air Show featuring the Lima Lima Lima flight team, the world’s original six ship civilian formation aerobatic team, after race number four. Then it’s another special musical performance by the Shannon Rovers Irish Pipe Band following our fifth race of the day.
And don’t forget it’s also Belmont Stakes Day, enjoy live racing throughout the day at Arlington Park as the third leg of the Triple Crown kicks off in New York. Wager and watch as horses hit the track on the jumbotron or one of the many monitors throughout the facility. Then try your luck on the Belmont Exacta Board and Saturday Squares as you enjoy live music during the Miller Lite Saturday Summer Concert Series as Hoopla takes the Miller Lite Stage! If VIP treatment is what you seek, walk the red carpet and cheer in style as you enjoy our Belmont Bash in the Marquee Tents. This VIP treatment includes a two-hour chef’s themed table featuring, Pushcart Hot Dogs, Little Italy Gnocchi, New York Style Cheesecake and much more sure to get you in a New York state of mind as well as a 3-hour beer and wine package featuring the official drink of the Belmont Stakes, the Belmont Jewel.
