Problem Gambling Awareness Month is a national grassroots campaign led by the National Council on Problem Gambling to raise awareness about problem gambling. The Hoosier Lottery joins other lotteries, casinos, and responsible gaming councils across the United States in promoting this worthwhile cause.

Know your game. Game odds are published on every ticket so players can see their odds of winning. Players can also find additional resources such as How to Play videos, draw game payouts and details about remaining unclaimed prizes on all Scratch-off games at

Know your limit. Play for entertainment and set aside a specific amount of money to play. If you would like more information on setting a budget, consider visiting, a partnership between Hoosier Lottery and Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana.

Play within it. Monitor your spending so you know when you’ve spent your designated amount. Stick to your budget.

In December 2015, the Hoosier Lottery was awarded the highest possible certification for excellence in responsible gaming by the World Lottery Association (WLA). Indiana is the second U.S. lottery jurisdiction to earn this distinction. The certification is awarded to select lotteries around the world that have integrated responsible gaming into day-to-day operations and demonstrated continuous improvement in responsible gaming programs.




Hoosier Lottery distributions benefit every county throughout Indiana. The Hoosier Lottery contributes $30 million annually to local police and firefighters’ pensions and $30 million annually to the Teachers’ Retirement Fund.
