Larry Huggins, the respected CEO of Riteway-Huggins Construction Inc. founded Christmas in the Wards (CITW) 22 years ago. This year Huggins is further celebrated through Three Kings Day, which is celebrated in the Latino community on January 6. A shopping expedition for several families was held at the Walmart Superstore on North Avenue and Cicero in the Austin community. Three aldermen participated—Joe Proco Moreno in the 1st Ward, Alderman George Cardinis, 12th Ward and 31st Ward Alderman Millie Santiago. Each of them received $2,000 to shop with the local families. Alderman Moreno sponsored two elementary schools. Chase and Yates, which he purchased laptops, Alderman Cardinis will hold a post-Three Kings celebration for a local school in his area. Alderman Santiago held her post event this past Saturday. 37th Ward Emma Mitts also attended the event.
