ENGLEWOOD, ONE OF Chicago’s most prized neighborhoods recently celebrated men and women who have given a contribution to not only Englewood but around the world. Englewood’s Talks hosted the event at GOD’s Gift Ministries 6549 S. Halsted St. The honorees were “The Angel of Englewood” Gwen Appleberry; Johnny Smith; Larry Huggins; James Hinton; Shirley A. Coleman; Roy Curry; John Stallworth; Elzie Higginbottom and Edward Callahan. Each honoree received a plaque for their dedication and support. It was a night filled with dining and networking.
