Kenwood football team wins 36-6 over Michelle Clark High School

The Kenwood Broncos football team improved to 6-1 on the season after earning a 36-6 blowout victory over Michelle Clark High School on Saturday night.

“The defense played phenomenal,” said Sinque Turner, head coach of the Broncos. “We gave up less than 75 yards of total offense to Michelle Clark.”

Coach Turner said he was very pleased with his team’s overall performance on Saturday night; after they exploded for 36 unanswered points after surrendering a 6-0 lead early in the first half.

Quarterback Kaleb Garner threw for 2 touchdowns and 140 yards, as he led his team with their largest fourth quarter outburst of the season with 29 points.

After being up 7-6 over three quarters, the Broncos would receive touchdowns from several contributors – the first score of the quarter came on a rushing touchdown by running back Donald Dillon, giving the Broncos a 14-6 lead.

The second score came on a 25-yard touchdown pass from QB Caleb Garner to wide receiver Dante Reynolds for his second of the game. This made the score 22- 6, after a successful two-point conversion.

Following the big play by Garner to Reynolds, running back Lewis Bond added a 20-yard touchdown run. This made the score 29-6 after a successful extra point attempt by the kicker. Bond led all running backs in rushing with 128 yards on 14 carries and one TD.

And to finish off the game in one of his biggest plays of the season, corner back Miles Mooyoung would earn a 84-yard interception return for a touchdown. Making the score 36-6, and his second interception of the game.

Final score: Kenwood 36, Clark 6.
