Kenwood football team earns 24-8 victory over Brooks College Prep on senior night

The Kenwood Broncos football team improved to 5-1 on the season after earning a 24-8 victory over Brooks College Prep on Friday night at Gately Stadium.

It was senior night for the Broncos, as they would honor 19 players on their roster prior to the game.

“The game really had a lot of hype behind it,” said Dante Reynolds, wide receiver for the Broncos, after scoring three touchdowns during the game. “There was a lot of tension and animosity towards both teams. We had to come out on top.”

After scoring two TDS in the first three quarters, one on a 55 yard punt return and the other on a six yard TD reception, Reynolds would make one of his best catches of the year, after leaping over an Eagle’s defender in the end zone to ice the game for good.

Making the score 24-8. As time expired. In addition to a huge game by Reynolds, Broncos QB Kaleb Garner threw for two TDs and over 100 yards from scrimmage in his return from injury in Friday’s victory.

The defense of the Broncos held the Eagles to just eight points as linebacker Rickie Jones led the team with eight tackles.

Final Score: Kenwood 24, Brooks 8.
