The newspaper will commemorate the 2018 milestone events related to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Beginning in April 2018, the nation and world will remember the 50th Anniversary of Dr. King’s shocking and tragic assassination in Memphis (Tennessee). In June, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Non-violent Social Change also known as The King Center in Atlanta, Georgia will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of its founding by Coretta Scott King, the widow of Dr. King.

Then on November 2, the United States of America and world will observe the 35th Anniversary of the signing of H.R. 3706, commonly known as the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. National Holiday Law, which was authored and sponsored by former U.S. Representative Katie Hall (D-IN). The King Bill was signed by Ronald Reagan, 40th President of the United States of America on November 2, 1983, in the Rose Garden, The White House in Washington, D.C.
