“I have been in love with ‘Tractors Ain’t Green’ since I wrote it,” said Allen, of the song that originally appeared on his 2018 debut album Mercury Lane. “Creating a visual expression for this song really helps tell the story that we are a lot more alike than different.”
Jimmie Allen is a multi-platinum recording artist and songwriter who has been blazing trails since the beginning of his breakout career. Allen is currently nominated for Best New Artist at the 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards, his first ever GRAMMY nomination. He was recently nominated for Male Artist of the Year at the 57th ACM Awards, which he co-hosted alongside Dolly Parton, and was nominated for Outstanding New Artist nominee at the 53rd NAACP Image Awards. Allen launched his career with two consecutive No. 1 hits off Mercury Lane. His new single ‘Down Home’ was released March 8. The song marks the lead single from his forthcoming third album.
This is the second Amazon Music Original song and music video to be released on behalf of For Love & Country. “Black Myself (Amazon Original),” by Amythyst Kiah, was released in tandem with the film’s announcement on March 15th. Additional Amazon Original songs by artists featured in the film will roll out over the coming weeks, prior to For Love & Country releasing on April 7 in the Amazon Music app and on Prime Video. For Love & Country was directed by Joshua Kissi and produced by DPM Projects and Pizza Night.
