The Logan Center’s newest music series, Second Monday Blues features Chicago’s world-class musicians and emerging blues stars. A live interview precedes each concert, moderated by the series’ three-time, Grammy-nominated curator and host, Billy Branch.  January will feature special guest Mary Lane, a longtime staple of Chicago’s West Side blues circuit.

Relax with a glass of wine or cup of tea in Café Logan’s intimate setting while getting up close and personal with local musicians and delving deeper into Chicago blues.

Presented by the Logan Center and Billy Branch Music, with the support of The Reva & David Logan Foundation.

The Hyde Park Jazz Society selects musicians with a Chicago connection to perform at Café Logan on eight third Tuesdays during the academic year. Enjoy beer, wine, a full coffee bar, and food along with some of the best jazz the city has to offer.

AACM: Logical Extensions feat. Wisdom of the Elders

The Wisdom of the Elders is a concert performance featuring four of the elder statesman of the Chicago AACM nexus. The rare combination of saxes, flutes, vocals, and percussion offer a unique vehicle of expression by these four esteemed musicians: Ernest Dawkins, saxes and percussion; Taalib Din Ziyad, flutes and vocals; Ed House, saxes; and Art Turk Burton, percussion.
