It seems as though Chicago singer, Nola Ade, has established herself as a distinguished opener following her electric opening set in April for Jesse Boykins III at the Promontory. As usual, Nola delivered a spectacular performance with her new single’ Good to You’ one day before its official release in April.
Nola will be doing another opening set and laying a solid foundation for Mali Music on June 22nd. The event will take place at The Chop Shop in Wicker Park on Saturday, June 22nd at 10 p.m. with doors opening at 9:00 p.m. Mali Music is a GMA Dove Award winner, BET and NAACP Image Awards Nominee. He is also a Grammy nominee receiving Grammy nominations in 2015 and 2018 for Best Contemporary Album and Best Traditional R&B Performance, respectively. He is best known for his songs Loved By You, (Featuring Jazmine Sullivan), Beautiful and Contradiction.
Nola’s vibe and the ability to connect with the crowd are the main things that set her apart from other artists. Her gospel roots coupled with her rich Nigerian heritage lends itself to the passion and energy she exudes on the stage. You can tell she gives it her all as you can feel her enthusiasm even if you are at the back of the crowd.
Nola burst onto the music scene in 2015 opening for the likes of Bilal and Avery Sunshine. Those extraordinary performances helped establish her music career. The following year, she released her debut EP, The Love Dance which was followed up by the release of the single, Good Feelin’ in November 2017. In 2018 she was nominated for New Artist of the Year for the 2018 SoulTrack’s Readers’ Choice Award. After a yearlong sabbatical, Nola stormed back onto the music scene in 2019 with her single dynamic new single, Good to You which was released in April. She is set to release her second hotly anticipated single, ‘Over’ on June 14.
