The Gary Get Out the Vote Committee will sponsor an Election Rally on Friday, October 26 at the Glen Theater, 20 West Ridge Road, in Gary. The doors will open at 5 p.m. and the program will begin at 5:30 p.m.
State Rep. Vernon G. Smith, facilitator, said state and county candidates have been invited to attend. He added the event is not a debate; instead candidates will be allocated a time slot to present their platform and the reasons why citizens should vote for them. Refreshments will be served and door prizes will be awarded.
