Gary’s Annual Harvest Festival & Trunk Or Treat On October 31

Gary Police Set Trick or Treat Hours from 4:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m.

Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson, the Gary Common Council and the City of Gary will host the Annual Harvest Festival for children on Thursday, October 31, 2019 on the Hudson-Campbell Fitness Center’s parking lot from 5:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m.

Again this year, the Harvest Festival will feature the city’s Trunk or Treat where local organizations, community groups and businesses will participate. Parents are invited and are encouraged to bring their children to this citywide event for fun and treats as an alternative to trick or treating from door to door.

Other festival highlights include free food, music, harvest displays, entertainment and informational vendors. For parents choosing to allow their children to trick or treat on city streets, be advised that the Gary Police Department has set trick or treat hours on Thursday from 4:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m.

The event is hosted by the Mayor’s Office of Special Events, the Parks Department and the Commission for Women. For more information regarding the Harvest Festival, call (219) 881-1300. The Hudson-Campbell is located at 455 Massachusetts Street. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held inside.
