Gary demolishes buildings in Miller neighborhood

Three buildings in the Miller neighborhood were demolished on Tuesday, March 22. The project brought together Gary’s demolition department and three major construction companies in the city.

Reith-Riley Construction (Jim Wiseman, Eric Engleking), C. Lee Construction Services (Fredrick “Chip” Lee) and P.C. Trucking (PJ Wiltjer, Norm Brown) demolished structures at 526 S. Wayne Street, 604 S. Wells Street and 621 S. Wells Street. 519 S. Wayne Street is slated for complete Board Up and 601 S. Wayne Street is scheduled for in-house demolition. All structures are residential properties.

Demolition crews began work on the project on Tuesday, March 22. In addition to equipment donations, two Reith-Riley employees; an operator and a laborer will also donate two to three days towards the project.
