During their Annual Scholarship Golf Outing at Gary’s Gleason Park Golf Course earlier this summer, The Gary Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. awarded $1,000 scholarships to seven Northwest Indiana college bound high school students. This year’s winners were: Arnoldo Carrillo (Bowman), Daveon Finley (Portage), Sigifredo Gonzalez (Bishop Noll), Gregory Sher (East Chicago Central), Marlyn Taylor (Bishop Noll), Nehemiah Wooden-Gay (Bowman) and James Wordlaw (West Side). To be eligible for the fraternity’s scholarship, applicants were to complete an application packet while being a male high school senior in Northwest Indiana with a minimum 2.5 grade point average.
