In a beautiful display of dignity and pageantry the City of Gary dedicated five newly purchased fire trucks. The Fire Engines were showcased during a morning Dedication Ceremony on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Marquette Park. The Engines were dedicated in honor of the five former Fire Chiefs.

At the dedication family joined former Fire Chiefs Robert Walker, Jeffery Ward and Donald Williamson, as well as family for the two deceased Chiefs – Ben Perry and Richard Gilliam to receive the honors.

Displayed on a table draped in the Fire Departments insignia were photographs of the Chiefs and the respective trucks named in their honor. The top-notch units were custom designed for the Gary Fire Department and make an awesome addition to the Fire Department’s fleet.
