Family pleads for help for missing medical student

By Chinta Strausberg, Chicago Crusader

Ambrose Monye has been missing since April 21, 2016. His relatives are pleading for help as the search for the fourth-year medical student enters its third week.

With little clues to Monye’s whereabouts, family members hope someone will come forward to help them find the promising 28-year-old medical intern at Jackson Park Hospital, located at 1625 E. 75th Street. Ambrose is in his fourth year in medical school.

His brother, Joseph Monye, is also a medical student. Joseph worries about his brother while doing his rotations at Jackson Park Hospital. Monye said Ambrose was last seen walking towards the University of Chicago John Crerar Library. He was wearing reading glasses and carrying a green backpack that contained medical school books.

Relatives have combed through the neighborhoods, asking residents if they have seen Ambrose. So far their efforts have turned up empty.

Ambrose is 5’10” tall, 180-pounds, with brown eyes and has short black hair.

The last time Joseph Monye saw his brother was on April 1st and the last time he was spotted was on April 21 as he walked East on 55th Street.

Monye said his brother did not have any enemies. He said Ambrose had a girlfriend, but had recently broken up with her. He said the relationship was not serious and that Ambrose was ok with the break up.

If anyone has seen Ambrose Monye, call his brother, Joseph Monye at 301.672.7090.
