DuSable Museum Announces Its New App

The DuSable Museum of African American History will launch its new mobile app on Monday, January 15, 2018 during the Museum’s annual Dr. Martin Luther King Celebration event, The Dream: 50 Years Later. The 9:00 a.m. launch will take place at the Museum which is located at 740 East 56th Place (57th Street and South Cottage Grove Avenue) in Chicago.

During the launch, Museum app Ambassadors will be on hand to help visitors download and engage with the new digital DuSable. Included in the app are a branded set of customizable features: smart map to path visitors’ exploration of works of art and exhibits; scan image recognition technology for curated content; detail lens and marker to give prominence to the artworks details; mini-games at different levels of expertise; push notifications to stay connected, and much more.

“This is an exciting time for the DuSable Museum,” stated Mark Hall, DuSable Museum’s IT Manager. He continued, “The new app provides a higher level of visitor engagement during their journey through the museum. This new digital experience will allow our visitors to customize how they want to experience DuSable.”
