Currently, the United States is embroiled in chaos. The 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, has decided to act like a petulant child, holding his breath until he gets his way regarding building a southern border wall that he promised during his campaign for president. He asserted that a wall was needed to deter immigration, and he said that it would be paid for by the Mexican government. Of course, to most thinking persons, this was a preposterous proposal. Today, Trump is literally holding the country hostage by shutting down the government until he gets his way. Arguably, this push for a border wall is motivated by personal reasons, i.e., to get reelected by appearing to keep his campaign promise. In actuality, he did not promise to make Americans pay for the wall, which is what is happening during the government shutdown. Federal workers were faced with not having a paycheck during one of the most crucial economic times of the year – the Christmas and New Year season.
In the meanwhile, two children have died while in detention at the U.S. border. Incredibly, in this regard, one government official pointed out that only two children have died in recent years, as though it is okay for even one to die. Complicating matters is the assertion by some that many of the immigrants are fleeing violence in their own countries that was a result of U.S. economic policies.
All of the foregoing indicates that our government is led by entities that have no understanding of love. They don’t understand that everything is connected; they are ignorant regarding the obvious scientific explanation for the love approach. Admittedly, they are not alone in this regard, since, based on the current state of the world, many members of the human family do not understand this, and the Black community is not excluded.
The world that we live in is subjected to ENTROPY. What this means is that a glass of water that crashes to the ground shatters, grass has to be continually cut, we are in a constant fight against entropy, disorganization. In a world without entropy, the shattered glass would automatically reassemble itself and revert back to order. Technically, the definition(s) of entropy, according to the Oxford Dictionaries, is this: 1.a thermodynamic quantity representing the unavailability of a system’s thermal energy for conversion into mechanical work, often interpreted as the degree of disorder or randomness in the system. 2. lack of order or predictability; gradual decline into disorder: “a marketplace where entropy reigns supreme. “In other words, entropy is disorganization, fragmentation, and devolvement. We are in a constant fight with entropy in our existence on Earth. When we pass away, our bodies decay. Decay is an example of entropy.
The opposite of entropy is SYNERGY. According to the Oxford Dictionaries, synergy is 1.the interaction or cooperation of two or more organizations, substances, or other agents to produce a combined effect greater than the sum of their separate effects: “the synergy between artist and record company” is an example. Basically, synergy is LOVE, represented by unity, and entropy is the main component of HATE. Science, therefore, tells us that not understanding the unity of all things is a manifestation of SOCIOLOGICAL ENTROPY! It is segregation; it is the arms race, it is anything that keeps us divided. The situation at the U.S. border is entropic; the rising fascism on the planet is entropic; financial greed is entropic.
As we move into a new year it is time for humanity to mature and to observe nature for our behavioral cues. It is not possible for us to succeed if we choose an entropic path. It is only through understanding the healing power of synergy, of love, that humanity can succeed. Every group on the planet has something to offer, yet it is our personal boundaries resulting from our personal biases, that keeps us from seeing the obvious connectedness. The human family fits together like a large planetary puzzle in which each group contributes something valuable. As long as we don’t understand this, we will continue our engagement with entropy, and consequently continue our devolvement into chaos. A Luta Continua.
