Early Voting for the March 17 Democratic Primary kicked off this week with the opening of a new supersite in the South Loop.
During Early Voting, voters across Chicago began casting their ballots for important local, state and national races at two supersites in the city.
On February 12, election officials opened a new Early Voting supersite in the South Loop at 137 S. State Street.
Max Bever, spokesperson for the Chicago Board of Election officials, said the new site has 80 voting machines. The other Early Voting supersite is located on the sixth floor at 69 W. Washington in the Loop.
The Early Voting locations are ADA-compliant and fully accessible to voters with disabilities.
Early Voting at the supersites is open from 9 a.m. to 6p.m. Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
Election officials said non-registered voters need two forms of ID, one with your current address to vote.
Acceptable forms of ID include a driver’s license, State ID, U.S. Passport, Military ID, credit card, vehicle registration card, social security card, Medicare or Medicaid card, insurance card, college student ID, Link card or Illinois FOID card.

Democratic State Representative candidates Emanuel Welch, Kim du Buclet, and Sonya Harper are running unopposed.
