Domino’s® to Celebrate New ‘Pizza Theater’ Store in Hammond

Local Domino’s store looking to add more friendly faces to an exceptional team

Domino’s in Hammond at 1918 165th St., opened its doors to celebrate its new “pizza theater” on Monday, December 3. This is Domino’s second store location in Hammond.

In celebration of the store’s opening, customers are enjoying medium one-topping carryout pizzas for $3.99 each through December 30. The store will feature ongoing specials and a drawing to win free pizza for a year on December 24 as well.

Domino’s in Hammond will offer an ongoing 50 percent off “Behind the Badge” special to police officers, firefighters, first responders and members of the military who show their badge or military identification (valid on a single item for carryout orders only).

“We are dedicated to the Hammond area and are excited to better serve its residents,” said Jim Gronemann, Hammond Domino’s franchise owner. “We have a deeply experienced team of folks who live and work in Hammond and they are eager to offer our delicious products, exceptional service, and innovative ordering technology to the community.”

Domino’s features the new pizza theater store design which allows flexibility for a number of elements otherwise unheard of when it comes to the “traditional” Domino’s store. Highlights include a comfortable lobby, open-area viewing of the food preparation process and the ability to track carryout orders electronically on a lobby screen. The store also features a chalkboard to allow customers to express their creativity or leave feedback for the store team members.

The store is also looking to hire. The new positions offered are for delivery drivers, customer service representatives, assistant managers and general managers.

Gronemann started working at Domino’s as a delivery driver in 1984. He worked his way up to become a franchise owner and now owns 16 Domino’s stores in Indiana and Illinois. Gronemann is not alone – more than 90 percent of Domino’s U.S. franchise owners began their career as part-time Domino’s employees.
