Defense! Defense! Defense! Bears improve to 4-2 on the season with 35-16 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars

Chicago Bears

In the final game before their 2024 NFL Bye Week, the Chicago Bears improved to 4-2 on the season with a 35-16 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, October 13, in London, England.

The Bears received another great performance by the defense, by limiting the Jaguars to 16 points scored in the game, according to the Bears.

The Bears’ defense has now held opponents to 21 points or less in 12-straight games, the longest active consecutive-game mark in the NFL and tying for the longest stretch of games by the Bears since 2005 (12), the team added.

According to the Bears, the team have now won nine-straight designated home games, dating back to last season. The current stretch of consecutive home victories is the longest since the Bears won 10-straight games from 2005-06 and is the longest active streak in the NFL. With the win, the Bears have now won three-consecutive games in a single season for the first time since 2020 (Weeks 14-16).

The Bears said linebacker T.J. Edwards forced his fourth fumble of his career, which was eventually recovered by DB Elijah Hicks. Along with an interception by DB Josh Blackwell, the Bears totaled two takeaways. With two forced turnovers, the Bears now have 14 takeaways on the season, second-most in the league, and 41 since the start of last season, leading the NFL.
