Chicago-born and Englewood-bred comedian Damon Williams will headline Teamwork Englewood’s third comedic fundraiser to benefit the organization on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. at Riddles Comedy Club, 5055 W. 111th Street, Alsip, Illinois.
Williams, who began his career at All Jokes Aside Comedy Club has material that has universal appeal and offers something for all ages. His popularity on stage and screen has provided him the opportunity to work with some of the biggest stars in the business such as Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, Luther Vandross, Ray Charles, Harry Belafonte, Chris Rock, James Brown, Jamie Foxx, Little Richard and even President Barack Obama.
“Teamwork Englewood works hard with residents and partners to address the issues in the community, while we work hard, we also need moments to celebrate and have fun,” says Executive Director Cecile De Mello. “We want Englewood to be known for the positive things it has to offer and to have one of Englewood’s own to celebrate with the community, really means so much.”
Teamwork Englewood is a nonprofit organization committed to working with residents and stakeholders in building a stronger community. All proceeds benefit organizational programs such as Englewood’s Women Initiative, Youth Programming, and Reentry services.
