HOSTS HOMICIDE VICTIM MEMORIAL SERVICE TUESDAY, OCTOBER 29
The city of Gary, Mayor Karen Freeman Wilson and the Gary Common Council will present a Homicide Victim Memorial Service on Tuesday, October 29 at 6:30 p.m. in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The event, hosted by the Gary Commission for Women and Gary for Life, will be held at ArtHouse: A Social Kitchen located at 411 East 5th Avenue.
The evening will bring together survivors, feature victim impact storytelling, support and messages of hope, while highlighting the strength and courage of families affected by violence.
Participating community partners include the YWCA, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Gary Alumni Chapter, and the ASW Foundation. Refreshments will be provided by Gary’s own Kreative Affairs, immediately following the memorial service.
