Chicago Multi-Cultural Dance Center Presents “Because We Can” Benefit Performance

Artistic Director Homer Bryant Presents New Works

The Chicago Multi-Cultural Dance Center has taken the world by storm with its mega viral Hiplet technique that has received over 400 million views online. Hiplet has been featured on national television shows including Steve Harvey and Good Morning America. The company has partnered with major brands such as Mercedes Benz and Vogue Magazine. Presently, the school is gearing up to present its first major performance of 2017, entitled Because We Can.

The Because We Can Benefit Performance and Reception, featuring The Bryant Youth Professionals and The Hiplet Ballerinas, will take place on Sunday, April 9th at the Museum of Science and Industry, 5700 South Lake Shore Drive. The performance is at 5pm, with a reception immediately following. Tickets are $100 and include parking, the performance and admission to the reception immediately following.

“Despite the press, there are many, many positive things going on in Chicago and we are very excited to let everyone know about one of them – CMDC,” says Homer Bryant, Artistic Director of the Chicago Multi-Cultural Dance Center and creator of the Hiplet technique. “Our students are some of the best and most dedicated dancers in Chicago. And our goal is to reach more dancers in under-served communities this year. This benefit is designed to help us reach that goal.”

The evening’s performance will raise funds to support the next generation of dance excellence. It will include an insightful performance, with excerpts from CMDC’s repertoire, from Ballet to Hiplet. After the performance, guests will meet the dancers, board and artistic team, and enjoy food and drink at the reception.

Proceeds will support CMDC initiatives, including providing opportunities for under-served and diverse communities, scholarships, afterschool partnerships and studio enhancements.
