Chicago community to hold National Vigil to #EndGunViolence

On Wednesday December 5, 2018, Cassius L. Rudolph, candidate for 20th Ward Alderman, will join local faith Leaders, community activists, families of victims of gun violence to hold a national vigil to #EndGunViolence.

Join this Chicago gathering – one of hundreds around the country – as we remember those lives lost at the Sandy Hook shooting and lives lost in our very own communities. The National Vigil to #EndGunViolence will be Dec 5, 2018, 6:30pm at St. Benedict the African 340 W. 66th Street, Chicago IL 60621.

By this December, over 600,000 Americans will be killed or injured by guns since the Sandy Hook shooting tragedy. We urge you to join the gun violence prevention movement in our collective effort to continue to shine a light on the devastating epidemic of gun violence in our nation. Our goal is simple. The gun violence prevention movement will unite a coalition of citizens to support the families and communities impacted by gun violence, educate our communities on conflict resolution, continue to raise awareness of gun violence as a public health crisis, and make gun violence reduction a primary issue throughout our nation.

In addition, we will ask attendees to contact their local aldermen and the mayor’s office to create an office of Gun Violence Prevention. We will follow up with letters, emails, phone calls and visits until this happens.

Together, we will renew our vow to #HonorWithAction to #EndGunViolence in America. (theNewtownFoundation)
