Since the mega success of 2015’s Straight Outta Compton, all eyes have once again turned to gangster rap group, N.W.A.
From digging deep to reveal what really tore the group a part, past public beefs and which parts were missing from the story, people just can’t get enough of the fascinating tales.
Saturday night, singer Michel’le – who was the first lady of Ruthless Records and girlfriend of Dr. Dre, premiered her side of the ‘Compton’ story, after being an integral part of the crew’s beginnings but being excluded from the film.
Now, Eazy-E’s daughter has launched a campaign to help fund a docu-film about her father which will also further investigate his HIV-related death.
Rolling Stone reports that his daughter, Ebie, has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund a documentary exposé titled A Ruthless Scandal: No Nore Lies.
For the past 10 years, Ebie, along with her mother and half-sister Erica have been working on the production and alleges that 21 years after his death, that he was murdered. The ladies also claim they have “jaw-dropping” revelations about his final days and the battle for his estate.”
“The stories that we’re telling are mainly about the scandal surrounding my father’s death,” Ebie expressed to Rolling Stone. “But we also wanted to show his accomplishments, his personal life and, really, the aftermath of his demise and what happened to us.
She added, “We never felt the story that was told to the public was the truth. It’s just something that has always pained us.”
Suspicion has always followed Eazy’s passing. But it was a 2003 interview conducted with Suge Knight on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that caused speculations to resurface. During that interview, Suge hinted that Eazy could have been injected with AIDS-infected blood.
Ebie also wants the docu-film to explore the discrepancy surrounding her father’s estate and how it was decided.
“We’re not accusing anyone but maybe they want to tell their side,” Tracy Jernigan, Ebie’s mother stated. “This is going to be very objective. We’re not going to point fingers. We just want to present the facts and let people make their own evaluation of it.”
The family is looking to raise $250,000 in their Kickstarter campaign.
