Calumet Township Trustee recognized by Indiana Township Association

The Indiana Township Association has awarded its “ITA Trustee of the Year,” to Kimberly K. Robinson of Calumet Township, Lake County.

The 2016 award for noteworthy service was presented to Trustee Robinson during the association’s annual Educational Conference in Indianapolis.

The receiver is determined by a committee comprised of past recipients of the annual award. The committee was impressed with the challenges faced by Trustee Robinson as she began her tenure in 2015 and her determination to implement changes within the administration, which has been under the scrutiny of the Indiana General Assembly for some time. Her courage to lead the troubled township was noted as she was presented the award by committee Co-chair and fellow trustee, Craig Beckley.

The award is based upon merit that supersedes the average call of duty, according to the Association’s Executive Director, Debbie Driskell.

“Trustee Robinson was elected at a time when Calumet Township was being scrutinized by many,” said Driskell. “She is to be commended for her hard work in the midst of great challenge.”
