Calumet Township Trustee hosts job fair

Calumet Township Trustee Kimberly K. Robinson will host a job fair at the Calumet Township Trustee Multi-purpose Center, 1900 W. 41st Avenue, in Gary on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

“Our job fair is held in the spring and in the fall, to accommodate our community employers who are searching for candidates to fill existing openings,” said Trustee Robinson.

Companies are currently seeking full and part-time employees and there is definitely a push for holiday hires, she said.

“Over 30 vendors and a large job-seeking crowd are expected, including Calumet Township Trustee clients, schools, churches, government and social service agencies and community partners, who have been notified about the job fair, and we are excited to welcome the United States Census Bureau, which is currently seeking 500,000 census workers for the 2020 census, with starting pay of $14 an hour and mileage reimbursement,”she said.
