Bulls lose back to back games to Pelicans and Hawks at home 

The Chicago Bulls moved to 18-22 on the season with a 119-113 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday, January 14, at the United Center. 

Bulls defenders had no answer for forward Zion Williamson in his return, who finished second in team scoring with 21 points on the contest.  

According to Bulls PR, the first half of play featured eight lead changes and seven ties between the two teams with the biggest lead being eight points held by Chicago in the first quarter (33-25). Chicago led New Orleans at halftime, 59-53. 

Bulls PR said the Pelicans used a 19-6 run between the waning seconds of the third quarter and midway through the fourth quarter to (0:03, third quarter to 7:38, fourth quarter) to grab their first double-digit lead of the game (92-102). New Orleans bolstered their lead with a 10-0 run between 6:38 in the fourth quarter to 4:15 in the fourth to increase their advantage to 16 points (96-112) – the largest lead of the game between either team. 

Final Score: Bulls 113, Pelicans 119 

The Bulls lost their 22nd game of the season.  

Following the loss to the Pelicans, the Bulls would lose to the short-handed Atlanta Hawks 110-94 at the UC.

According to Bulls PR, the Hawks rode a 15-0 run between 10:32 in the second quarter to 7:59 in the second to grab their first double-digit and largest lead of the game (15 points, 27-42) at the time. Chicago trailed Atlanta at halftime, 47-61. 

The Bulls said Atlanta led for the entirety of the second half, with the Hawks largest lead growing as high as 16 points (94-110) to close the game, added Bulls PR.
