After back-to-back wins over Eastern Conference playoff contenders, the Chicago Bulls fell to the Toronto Raptors 104-98 on Tuesday, February 28, on the road.
In spite of the loss, the Bulls received help from their top three players in center Nikola Vucevic, who scored 23 points on Tuesday night; guard Zach LaVine contributed with 17 points, and forward DeMar DeRozan who finished with 13 points.
“I thought we got the ball where it needed to go on offense and executed pretty well while missing a key offensive creator,” said coach Nick Nurse of the Toronto Raptors, via the Canadian Press about the return of his point guard Fred VanVleet.
“Probably could have used him at the defensive end against some really fast guards.”
Although VanVleet finished with only 3 points in the contest, the Bulls were outscored 24-23 in the first quarter and 34-26 to close out the game.
Final Score: Bulls 98, Raptors 102
With the victory, Toronto moves 2.5 games up on Chicago with the tiebreaker for the season now clinched.
