After building a 17 point lead in the first half, the Chicago Bulls fell to the Cleveland Cavaliers 108-105 on Wednesday, February 14, on the road.
The Bulls were led by guard Coby White, who scored a game-high 32 points and made five three-pointers in the loss.
“These moments define the game, so I’ve got to take it on the chin and be better the next time,” said White via the Associated Press. “Nothing can prepare you, except for going through them. I’m pretty ticked I didn’t make the last shot, but it means a lot to be put in that position.”
Leading 32-35 in the first quarter, the Bulls were later outscored 18-17 in the second quarter, 28-27 in the third quarter and 37-29 in the fourth quarter to close out Wednesday night’s game.
In addition to being outscored 3 quarters to 1, the Bulls defense had no answer for Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell. Mitchell scored a team-high 30 points versus Chicago. His clutch free-throw down the stretch with 44 seconds gave the Cavaliers the lead.
Final Score: Bulls 105, Cavaliers 108
With the loss, the Bulls are now 26-29 on the season and will play their next game on Thursday, February 22, versus the Boston Celtics at the United Center. Game time 7 p.m.
