The Lord abundantly blessed us in our 2019 Fall Revival at the DuPont Park Church in Washington, DC with 53 baptisms this past Saturday, October 19! The good news is there are additional baptisms forthcoming! Praise the Lord! Please remember the recently baptized persons, along with the prospective baptismal candidates in your continued prayers.
This coming Saturday, October 26, at 11:00 a.m. in Huntsville, AL at the Oakwood University Church, 5500 Adventist Blvd., NW, Huntsville, AL, we will have a special Breath of Life “Green Plate Day!” On this special day, we will promote health and the benefits of plant based living! Yours truly, Dr. Carlton P. Byrd, will share his preaching ministry, the Oakwood University Aeolians will share their music ministry, and our special guest will be Kimberly Elise, award winning actress (Tyler Perry’s “Diary of a Mad Black Woman) and vegan advocate, who will share her journey on the blessings of a plant based diet. Also, vegan food samples will be provided to all in attendance by Celebrity Chef, Mrs. Cynthia Chea Pean, immediately following the Divine Worship Experience.
Additional initiatives on this special day (October 26) will be:
- A “conversation” as led by the Oakwood University Department of English and Foreign Languages on the book, “Ministry of Healing,” at 4:30 p.m.
- A vegan food demonstration presented by Chef Cynthia Chea Pean at 5:30 p.m.
“A Taste of Vegetarian and Vegan Foods” featuring Huntsville Area Vegetarian and Vegan Food Caterers, Restaurants, Providers, and Vendors at 6:30 pm in the Oakwood University Church Family Life Center where food tickets will be sold. Some of the food vendors include: “2 Men in a Kitchen,” “Cul-style-r-us,” Earth Fare, Heaven’s Healthy Kitchen, Helen Stoddart, Hippea Camper, “I Love Juice Bar,” M and K Jamaican Restaurant, Mango’s, Pita Levant, Mei Wei, and many more. Please also know there will be inflatable bouncers for the kids to enjoy! Hence, there will be something for the entire family!
