The Friends of the Gary Public Library will hold a Book and Media sale, December 5, 6, and 7 at the Gary Public Library and Cultural Center, Roma K. Ivey Community Room, 220 W. 5th Avenue. Used books, DVDs, CDs, and audio books will be sold, while supplies last, cash only. A pre-sale for members only of the Friends of the Gary Public Library will be held on Thursday, December 5 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Memberships will be available at the Pre-sale: $3 student; $5 individual adult; $7 couple; and $10 family.
The sale will open to the public on Friday, December 6 and Saturday, December 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both days, while supplies last.
All items are previously viewed or used and are sold as is, all sales are final – no refunds, no returns, no exchanges. Proceeds from the sale will be used to support Gary Public Library programs and services.
The public is invited to attend a free Sunday Jazz Concert, Sunday, December 15 from 3-5 p.m. at the Gary Public Library and Cultural Center, 220 W. 5th Avenue, 2nd floor Arts Theater.
Co-sponsored by the Greater Gary American Jazz Association, the concert will present the Billy Foster Trio featuring vocalist Renee Miles-Foster.
Sunday Jazz Concerts are held on the 3rd Sunday of each month, September through May from 3-5 p.m.
Patrons are encouraged to park in the north parking lot. Entrance will be on the north side only. No library service available. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. and seating is limited.
