The United States is undergoing a sociological transformation that has far-reaching ramifications. Life in America is rapidly changing, and the outcomes of the current state of affairs will eventually provide eye-opening information for everyone, both in America and around the globe.
For whatever reason, the planet is changing, and the current drama generated by the new American regime is a big part of this change. Those who display a religious bent will probably speak of “providence” when observing and discussing the current set of circumstances that threaten to take us back to an unpleasant past that denied the vote to Black people.
Incredibly, and unbelievably, America is trying to move backwards to a time when Black was restricted. The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) is poised to make a decision in the case Louisiana v. Callais that will possibly weaken Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act (VRA), which prohibits discriminatory voting practices. An unfavorable ruling could make it harder for Black voters to challenge redistricting maps that dilute their voting power.
A Black-averse decision would result in a new wave of racial gerrymandering. This would compromise the Black voting process; redistricting maps would dilute the Black vote. It would trigger a plethora of gerrymandering episodes all over the country, and would create challenges to equal representation that could last for years. To reiterate, it would not take away the actual right to vote; it would compromise the Black voting process. According to pundits, the laws are getting ready to change as a result of an anticipated positive ruling passed by the SCOTUS. In other words, opponents of the Black community who thwarted voting, will come out on top.
All of this is happening during changes being wrought by the transformation of life in America. The recent NO KINGS demonstration revealed at least seven million people who came out in opposition to the Trump political cartel that is in the process of deconstructing the United States.
Trump and his cohorts have blasted the No Kings rally, saying that the demonstrators hate America. They also allege that the demonstrators were paid by George Soros and others, and that the main crowd consisted of Antifa, Hamas members, and violent criminals. These were just overt lies promulgated by Trump et al. One of Trump’s greatest weapons is his ability to tell lies that are believed by his constituents.
Adding to the chaos is the shutdown of the government due to the inability of the two houses of Congress to reach a budgetary consensus. If the truth be told, it is apparent that Republicans bear the greater responsibility for the prolonged shut down. This is because the vulnerable public sees Trump’s lies as truth, thereby ignoring reasoning shared by the Democrats for the shutdown. Essentially, regular citizens stand to see incredible increases in their health care premiums, or may lose their healthcare altogether. Yet, in response, the GOP is taking a vacation, thus removing the possibility of voting to open the country. They are blaming the total debacle on the Democrats! If they are successful in getting their way, thousands, maybe millions of Americans stand to lose their healthcare AND their lives, while the Trump regime sets the money aside for their oligarch friends!
The lack of critical thinking being done by people who believe the lies spread by Trump and his cohorts is having a devastating impact on civic well-being; huge sociological wedges are being utilized to keep people in differing camps from working together to solve our collective problems. And the level of cruelty coming from the Trump camp resulting from his lies and economic manipulation is having a deleterious impact on the whole country.
Essentially, the lies and misbehaviors exhibited by the Trump regime reveals an incredible lack of professionalism. Trump openly disregards the well-being of at least half of our fellow citizens (Democrats). He is also a threat to Black and brown communities who are primary targets of this white supremacist regime. With that said, we must not go BACKWARD; we must move forward to defeat the vile actions of the current, toxic regime! Aluta continua.
