A week after American Urban Radio’s Washington Bureau Chief April Ryan was told to stop shaking her head by White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer in a room full of journalists, she’s secured a new job.
On Monday, Ryan announced via Twitter that she’s been hired as a CNN political analyst.

The journalist —who will keep her full-time job— makes her first appearance on Wolf Blitzer’s The Situation Room Tuesday, April 4 at 1 p.m. EST.
Since President Trump has been in office, Ryan has been unapologetic in asking about his ties with Russia, relationship with the Congressional Black Caucus and racist undertones.
Last week’s interaction with Spicer was sparked after she asked about the president’s image, in the midst of having the lowest approval ratings of his term— 51 percent disapprove of his performance according to Investor’s Business Daily.
“I’m not the news,” she said in an interview with The Hill. “I don’t like being in the news. But it’s about freedom of the press. We need to stay vigilant.”
